There are infinite possibilities on the grounds of the Sanctuary for Adventures Sites! We work with leadership and educational oversight to pinpoint safe and enriching locations for the students
The Orchard
Watching the trees change from bare branches, budding leaves and flowers, full summer glory, then autumn apple harvest is a truly direct way to develop a deeper connection to the natural rhythms of the world all around them. Our apple and blueberry orchards invite students to experience the joy of harvesting food with their own hands. Whether picking crisp apples in the fall or gathering sweet blueberries in the summer, children engage all their senses while learning where food comes from. These seasonal traditions foster a sense of stewardship, gratitude, and wonder about the natural world. This is one of the students favorites!
Sticks & Stones
This is an almost daily destination for students who love adventure. Stickers & Stones is a rugged play area filled with large rocks, sturdy logs, and natural balance beams. It's perfect for climbing, hopping, and endless imaginative play. Students test their strength and coordination as they navigate the terrain, while just a short side hike away, a peaceful seasonal stream offers a quiet place to observe, reflect, and connect with nature.
Mud Magic
For mud paintings and imagination expanding play, the Mud Magic offers unlimited opportunities for creativity and exploration. Students love discovering the magic of nature in this playful, sensory-rich space while feeling the cool mud and hearing birds and the rustling of leaves. What animals of the woodland might they see next with careful and patient observation?
