The vernal pool is a favorite spot for budding scientists across the seasons. Small rivulets and streams here are truly seasonal, as is the marsh. Students gather in these spaces to investigate frog eggs, maybe spot salamanders, and track water levels as they change with the weather each season. Through direct observation and hands-on discovery, children gain a true understanding of life cycles, habitats, and the delicate balance of ecosystems. Compassion for special and delicate spaces like this provides our students a solid beginning into understanding kindness for our planet.
